Economy Update!
Hey guys, it's me again, your beloved JX back to tell you more about the Economy and the situations at hand. Boy is there a lot to talk about. I recently was surfing Yahoo! news and noticed an article titled "Obama calls $18B in Wall St. bonuses 'shameful'." Now, naturally, that being the economically aware blogger that I am, I clicked the link and noticed something very confusing. In the last few days, Obama has apparently confused many people. including himself. Now, I'm not trying to make fun of him or the new administration, I'm just pointing out the fact he's reversing on everything. Yesterday, he surronded himself with a bunch of rich CEOs and told them how he's so proud of them for helping keep the economy running in these tough times, and now today he says they are "shameful." Is it just me, or is he really doubling back on his words. As well, he said during the campaign that former lobbyists would not have a place in his white house, many top official spots have been giving to former lobbyists. Many are outraged by Obama's decision to hire lobbyists, while others say he's making the right move. I guess the most important part question for today is: Do you think that Obama is lying or just making excuses because he knows he messed up?" Comment! That's all for now folks!
$50 Million?!
It has recently been brought to my attention that Citigroup Inc. purchased a Private Corporate Jet for $50 Million dollars! They had already put down a deposit in 2005 for the jet. However, under pressure by Democratic President Obama, Citigroup has been forced out of the contract. However, Citigroup has announced that they could face multi-million dollar charges for the termination of the deal. Upon hearing this news, I was furious! I mean, here's a bank who said it needed help and received nearly $45 BILLION from the government in the Bailout, but is still planning on buying a JET when half of the whole nation is in an economic crisis!
Personally, I'm beginning to get a little bit fed up with all the rich people (Actors included). I mean, c'mon! The whole nation is in chaos over Federal debts and layoffs and all the rich upper class people are probably just sitting at home on their bags full of money laughing at all the underdogs. Why don't they lend a helping hand for once (This rant is excluding Warren Buffett, who has already attempted to stimulate the economy with his money, although he was recently named the Richest Man in the Nation). Why can't Johnny Depp or Bill Gates, or Apple CEO Steve Jobs (Hope you get better!) lend just a little bit of money. Heck losing a little bit of money isn't as bad as losing all of it right? I mean, something is better than nothing. If all you rich people just sit there and let the poorer people rot and go more in debt, then this isn't much of a free country than is it. Plus it's not like you can't get anymore! In fact, I know that a lousy 30 second commercial can land the developer nearly $2 MILLION dollars. If 30 seconds gets $2 Million, then how much would a 3 hour long movie (Benjamin Button... UGH!) be worth?! I mean, even with the IRS on your tail and everything cause you all evade taxes (not pointing fingers here), you can at least help out a bit. Some financial experts recently put out a list of the companies that are most likely to fail in 2009, and you know what was on there? Target! and WALMART! I MEAN C'MON! Without Target and Walmart, where else are all the normal people gonna get stuff?!?!?! This is INSANITY! This is CHAOS! This is just plain WRONG!
